Hi, there. Feel free to grab some coffee or tea. Just pick your poison and make yourself comfortable. We’ve got a lot to talk about.
All About Me:
My name is Robin. I grew up in Michigan , in a little town just outside of Lansing . Not much to say about my childhood. I started ballet when I was in 2nd grade, but had to change to jazz. I just felt that ballet moved way to slow for me, just to limiting. I had to be free to move my way. This simple statement really sums up who I am. I’ve never been one to do anything slowly. I was a child of the 80’s, in high school. I had big hair, wanted to be Andie Walsh (that’s right, I referenced Pretty in Pink), made lifelong friends, had my heart broken and graduated. I needed to spread my wings, so I left Michigan and went to Ball State University . That is where I met and fell madly in love with Steve. We were married 1 year and 4 months after our first date. Speaking of first dates, ours is quite a funny story. I’ll have to share that story with you at a later date. I promise that I will. It’s really good.
My Family:
I am married to a wonderful man. Steve is my biggest cheerleader and my biggest” no holds barred, tell-it like it is, enough of this pity party, put your big girl pants on and do it” guy. He is the love of my life, my best friend and the reason that I am doing this. He felt that it would be a great outlet for me. Or, as I am sure he was really thinking, “Please, Lord, give her someone else to talk to about all of this. Her word bucket runneth over. My head is going to explode.” I am 99.5% sure of this. After all, he is a guy. They just believe in bullet points, just give me the highlights. Nothing more and nothing less.
We have 3 boys. Our oldest is Trey, who is 17. Our next is Jacob, who is 15. And, Jarrod, our 10 year-old. Even our OCD dog, Truman, is a boy. I am surrounded by testosterone. My boys are great guys and I am so proud of them. But, like the rest of us, they are not perfect. And, that is where I get some of my funniest stories, really my best material. Every time that I think I have unlocked the man code, I realize I have once again proven that I am the only woman in this house and I just don’t get it. I just roll my eyes, shrug my shoulders, think “whatever” and hope for better luck next time.
My Likes:
Pasta (I truly believe that I was Italian in my previous life), chocolate, coffee time with friends that last for hours, dancing in my living room, singing at the top of my lungs, snuggling with my hubby, laughing at myself, and crying at the end of movies, shopping to find the best deals, surprise flowers for no apparent reason, shoes and handbags.
My Dislikes:
People who take life to seriously, raw sushi, anyone who invades my space with their shopping cart in the check out line (you know who you are), rudeness, talking during a movie, and being felt that I have to change who I am in order to fit in. If you don’t like me, that sounds like your problem, not mine. I’m just saying…
My Final Thoughts:
I hope that you have enjoyed our time together and will come back soon for a visit. If you would like to chat with me, feel free to contact me at crashingtheboysclub@gmail.com.
